Privacy policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

This policy explains how FreeOptionScreener ("we") handles information when you use our website and option-data connector. Contact us about this policy or your information at [email protected].

Information we process

When you sign in with Google, Google and Firebase Authentication process your sign-in. We use your account identifier, email address, email-verification status and account plan to recognize your account and control access. Google and Firebase may also maintain associated profile information. We do not receive your Google password.

If you save a query, we store its name, filter settings and update time with your account. Query settings may also appear in bookmarked URLs and browser history. Support messages contain the information you choose to send us.

We collect operational information to run and troubleshoot the service: requested paths and selected filters, timestamps, request identifiers, response status, performance measurements, errors, account identifiers and plans for authenticated requests, and limited browser, device and network measurements. Hosting providers may also record IP addresses, user agents and request metadata.

How information is used

We use this information to authenticate users, apply account access, save and restore queries, fulfill authorized connector requests, provide support, diagnose reliability and performance, and protect the service from misuse. We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, referral sources and use of public pages. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in the website tag.

Cookies and browser storage

Choosing a language stores a screener_language preference cookie for up to one year. A valid lang URL parameter overrides the cookie; without either, the interface defaults to English. Language affects only the interface, never market data or account permissions. You can switch language again or clear this cookie in your browser.

Choosing a color theme stores a screener_theme preference cookie for up to one year. Without a valid preference, the interface uses the light theme. This cookie changes only presentation, not market data, queries, language or account access. Switching themes updates it; clearing it restores the light default.

Necessary cookies maintain your signed-in session and protect requests against forgery. Session storage holds short-lived sign-in and performance diagnostics. Blocking these features can prevent sign-in or disrupt the service. Signing out clears this website's session cookies; it does not delete your account or saved information.

Google Analytics uses cookies and browser/device information to measure visits on our production website. Our tag sends page paths and referring website origins without query parameters or fragments; it does not send your account email, saved-query names or authentication tokens. Browser privacy controls or blocking Google Analytics can prevent this collection without preventing screening. Learn more about Google's data use.

Connected apps, including Muse

If you authorize a connector, we store the app identity, your account identifier, authorization scope and expiry, and security records for that authorization. Code and token lookup records use hashes rather than retaining the original credentials. We check your account and authorization when the app requests data.

The read-only connector returns the option data and publication information requested by the authorized app. It does not provide that app access to your saved queries, browser session or administrator tools. We receive the filters and other inputs that the app sends to our API.

You can revoke a connection from Connected apps. This stops future authorized requests after the revocation is checked; a request already in progress may finish. Revocation does not remove information already received by the connected app. Its provider's own privacy policy governs its conversations, credentials and retained responses.

Service providers and disclosures

We use Google Cloud for hosting, storage and operational logging, Firebase for authentication, and Google-hosted fonts and browser sign-in libraries. These services process information needed to provide their functions and may operate in the United States and other countries. See Firebase privacy information and Google's privacy policy. Email support is handled through the contact mailbox above.

Information is disclosed to the providers operating these functions and to apps you authorize as described here. We may also disclose information where required by law or needed to investigate misuse and protect the service or its users.

Retention and your choices

Account information and saved queries remain until removed through a verified deletion request or account administration. Signing out or disconnecting an app does not automatically erase diagnostic logs or expired authorization records. We do not currently apply one automatic deletion deadline to all operational records. Some records may need to be retained for security, dispute resolution or legal obligations.

Contact [email protected] to request access, correction or deletion of information associated with your account. We verify identity before fulfilling requests and explain any information we cannot remove. Rights available to you may depend on where you live.

Policy updates

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies the current version. Questions about an update can be sent to [email protected].
